Lighthouse Center for the Arts / A source of healing and inspiration in the toughest of times.
After losing her husband Mrs. Bailey decided to turn back to art for healing and chose Lighthouse Art Center in Tequesta, FL.
Their mission is “dedicated to the visual arts whose mission is to inspire, engage and connect our community through a vibrant school of art, unique exhibitions and diverse special events.”
It was through the adult classes, events and exhibits that Mrs. Bailey found a community within her community and began painting again.
The Lighthouse Art Center was founded in 1964 by a group of eight artists and Christopher Norton, the son of the founders of the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, Florida, the ArtCenter features several galleries, a art school, a gift shop and an art supply store.
Receiving over 20,000 visitors each year patrons of the Center are no doubt drawn in by the innovative exhibits, educational guided tours, art-themed lectures, enriching day trips, monthly receptions and unique special events.
The Lighthouse ArtCenter School of Art offers classes and workshops for children and adults, beginner through professional levels in ceramics, drawing, encaustic, jewelry, painting (acrylics, oils, and watercolors), photography, Photoshop, portrait and figure instruction, sculpture and more. Special needs classes are also offered for adults and children.
We are very proud to support and promote the wonderful work and outlet they provide to the community.
